 1.  Choose a standard, topic or theme.

 2.  Choose a title for your project.

 3.  Search the Internet for web sites that provide information. Preview each site and prepare questions, annotation or assignments for that site.  (at least 4 sites)  Sample sites:

4.  Prepare a brief description of your track.   Write below or open a word processor and type Project Title, Project Overview, Title of Web site, copy and paste web site address, and type questions for each site.   (You are not allowed to point more than half your links to the same parent site to avoid copyright problems)

4.  Open a word processing program and type:

Project Title

Description of Track

Title of Web site

Copy and paste web site address

Questions for each site.

            MAKE SURE YOU SPELL CHECK!

Now you are ready to make a TRACK!

 1.  Type in your browser address window:

 http://trackstar.hprtec.org/

2.  Under Make a Track, click on ‘Make or Edit a Track’ to create your own TrackStar.

3.  Follow directions and complete the form to make your own TrackStar.  Copy from word document and paste in template to avoid spelling errors.     Enter:

ƒYour first name, last name, email address, and password

ƒTitle of Track

ƒBrief Description of Track

 ƒSelect subject area(s)

 ƒChoose TrackMaker

ƒCopy and paste in Title of web site

ƒCopy and paste actual web site address (insures correct address).

ƒCopy and paste in annotation, comments, assignments, or questions for this site.

 ƒClick Add Link for the next link and so on.  (Ins inserts links, Del removes links)

 Preview your links and annotations. Click on Create New Track only when you are totally finished. Click on your track and preview. Check each link to make sure the web site shows properly in the window.

4.  Preview your links and annotations. Click on ‘Submit Track’ only when you are totally finished. 

5.  Click on your track and the click on ‘View in Text’. Check each link to make sure the web site shows properly in the window.

6.  Record the address and password of your own TrackStar.

       Preview the existing TrackStars for great ideas and Internet sites.

12. Each track can be modified and then made your own.
